RENO is the bedroom project of Chicago multi-instrumentalist and recording artist, Logan Reno. Pushing the limits of lo-fi music production, RENO blends grunge instrumentations with Woody Guthrie sensibilities and scratchy blues aesthetics, bringing the down-and-out angst of the Great Depression blues and the 90s grunge scene back for a new generation.
RENO’s debut album, Leaving South Dakota was recorded entirely on a TASCAM Portastudio cassette in Logan’s living room.

His debut album, “Leaving South Dakota,” was recorded entirely on cassette tape, using a TASCAM Portastudio, and tells the story about coming-of-age adolescence in a small Midwestern town. Blending grunge instrumentaions with neo-folk lyricism and melodies; RENO abandons a polished radio friendly sound for an angst-ridden, bass driven force that sound like you’re in the room with him.
